Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lawson Chandler (ranked 2101 p4p, 2743 weight class) and Limu Emu (ranked 291 p4p, 378 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lawson Chandler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Limu Emu!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emu keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Chandler keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Emu.
Emu throws a body shot but no joy.
Chandler throws a big counter combination but Emu scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
A lazy left from Chandler finds it's target.
It looks like Limu Emu has been cut.
Emu throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chandler on the side of the head.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Emu has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Emu gets caught napping as Chandler dives in and scores a takedown. Emu manages to retain guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chandler has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Emu is working away from the top position though.
Emu wants to pass to mount but Chandler is defending the position.

We've been told by Chandler's head coaches at Finch Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Emu might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Chandler haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Emu is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Chandler's shoulder. That is not cool.

Emu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Emu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chandler, who protects the arm well.

Emu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chandler keeps working.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Emu throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Chandler moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Emu throws a strike but Chandler rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Chandler seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Emu for as long as he can get away with.

Emu is trying to keep Chandler in close.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Emu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chandler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Chandler is pulling down on Emu's head. It's preventing any offense from Emu, at least for the moment.

Chandler chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Emu can pounce on him.
Emu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Chandler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Emu.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Limu Emu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Emu changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Let's hope that Emu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Limu Emu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Emu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
