Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Valdo Calamari (ranked 276 p4p, 147 weight class) and Spider Monkey (ranked 32 p4p, 18 weight class). Calamari's entrance music is Bellini - Samba Do Brasil. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Spider Monkey!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A little feinted left hand from Calamari on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

enabling Monkey to counter with a crisp jab.

Calamari feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Monkeys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Calamari stalks Monkey and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Monkey's face. Monkey staggers backwards, shaken.

Monkey drops Calamari with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Calamari looks back up at him and smiles so Monkey waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
