The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bullard uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vonnegut.

Vonnegut is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bullard misses the shot to the body.
Vonnegut throws a looping overhand right but Bullard ducks down to avoid it.
Bullard takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Vonnegut misses with a looping right.
Vonnegut throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Vonnegut looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vonnegut cracks a nice hook into Bullard's ribs.
Vonnegut fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bullard manages to avoid it.
Bullard is looking to counter punch.
Sikke Vonnegut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bullard takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Bullard takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Bullard throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vonnegut throws out a counter right but Bullard avoids it with no problem.
Bullard connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Vonnegut dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Bullard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vonnegut was well out of range. Poor timing from Bullard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vonnegut gets tackled into the cage by Bullard. Bullard maintains the clinch.

Vonnegut is trying to break the clinch but Bullard has him pressed against the cage.

Vonnegut breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bullard walks into a left hand.
Bullard looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Vonnegut tests Bullard's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Vonnegut takes a swing at Bullard's ribcage but misses.
Vonnegut looks to throw the jab but Bullard is out of range.
Bullard is looking to clinch.
Vonnegut bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bullard's head backwards.

Vonnegut throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vonnegut dips to his left and cracks Bullard with an uppercut!
Bullard slips under a jab.
Bullard swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Vonnegut gets a takedown into half guard.
Bullard is looking to improve his position.

Vonnegut tries to pass to full mount but Bullard defends it.
Bullard manages to get to full guard.
Vonnegut trying to control the position from guard on top but Bullard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Vonnegut is posturing up here but Bullard has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Vonnegut tries to roll out but it's too tight and Vonnegut has to tap! Slick submission there by Bullard!
