Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wiremu West (ranked 1709 p4p, 1749 weight class) and Small Richard (ranked 158 p4p, 162 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wiremu West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Small Richard!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Richard trying to control but West is working from the bottom.
Richard might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control West haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Richard is pushing down on West's leg trying to pass to half guard. West is fighting to maintain full guard but Richard has managed to sneak the leg through.
Richard is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wiremu West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. West showed some decent athleticism there.

West has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Richard is working away from the top position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

West passes easily into side control. Nice work.
West goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Richard has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for West but great work by Richard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Wiremu West will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
