Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Silva (ranked 1042 p4p, 2014 weight class) and Howie Dewitt (ranked 117 p4p, 229 weight class). Dewitt has chosen Montell Jordan - This Is How We Do It as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dewitt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've been informed that Dewitt has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Silva looks to land a left hand but Dewitt moved out of range nicely.
Dewitt is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Silva with a body shot.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dewitt but Dewitt pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dewitt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.

Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dewitt sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dewitt is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Silva off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Silva has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dewitt has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
What can Dewitt do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Dewitt has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Silva to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Dewitt is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Silva pulls down on the head and he's put Dewitt to sleep! This one is all over!
