Bolot kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is One Minute Silence's Holyman. Griffin has chosen Sweet Caroline as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hadji Bolot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aaron Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bolot gets caught flat footed, as Griffin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Bolot manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Griffin's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Bolot has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Griffin looking to slow down the pace here.
Bolot is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Griffin pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Griffin manages to break the clinch.
Bolot scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Aaron Griffin has been cut.
Aaron Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin wants to clinch.

Griffin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Bolot has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Griffin has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin wants to get back to striking at distance but Bolot won't allow it.
Griffin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bolot changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Griffin fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hadji Bolot. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffin misses with a wild combination.
As Griffin looks to move away, Bolot throws a big counter combo but Griffin just gets out of the way.
Griffin is looking to clinch but Bolot is avoiding it.
An attempted straight right counter from Bolot misses the target.
Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch but Bolot swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bolot swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Griffin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bolot manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bolot looking for a triangle here. Griffin is fighting it but it looks tight! Bolot pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Griffin is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Hadji Bolot!
In his post fight interview, Hadji Bolot gave a big smile as he said 'I'm deaf NOT BLIND!!!... um yes? uh uh? yes? what? sorry i can't hear you ..goodbye!'.
