Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Toby Rees (ranked 3594 p4p, 4333 weight class) and Junior Prado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Toby Rees!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Prado!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rees misses with an attempted mid kick.
Rees misses with a body kick.

Prado manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rees on his heels. He'll look to pass Rees's guard now, I'm sure.
Rees will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Prado stands and steps away. Rees gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rees throws a low kick but it's checked well by Prado.
Prado moves out of range as Rees throws a body kick.
A punch combination from Prado misses.
Prado throws a solid leg kick but Rees takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Prado.
Rees throws a sloppy head kick

and Prado counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Prado.
Rees is breathing heavily.
Prado controlling from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Prado won't allow Rees to get back to his feet.
Prado content to stall in guard here.
Rees on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rees tries to get out of the position.

Prado decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Rees misses with a low kick.
Prado is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Rees throws a half hearted mid kick.
Prado shoots for a takedown but Rees saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rees enables Prado to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rees manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rees wants to get back to his feet but Prado passes into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Prado thows a huge punch but Rees dodges it nicely.
Rees really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Prado throwing shots but Rees is blocking nicely.
Rees is trying to stand up here but Prado is controlling him well.
Prado passes to full mount!

Prado has isolated one of Rees's arms. Rees looking to fight him off but Prado twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Junior Prado!
