Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pinheiro Akagi (ranked 5453 p4p, 5269 weight class) and Doka Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pinheiro Akagi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Doka Polo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pinheiro Akagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Doka Polo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akagi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Polo.
Polo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Akagi throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Polo to counter with a crisp jab.
Polo misses the jab.
Akagi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Polo counters with a stiff right hand.
The fighters circling - Polo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Akagi connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Akagi throws out a loose jab but Polo uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akagi misses with a combination
and Polo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Polo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Akagi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Polo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Akagi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Polo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Polo.
Polo misses the shot to the body.
Akagi walks into a jab.
Akagi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Polo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Akagi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Akagi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Polo.
Polo looks to score with a jab to the body but Akagi is just out of range.
Akagi moves out of range of the strikes.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Polo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Polo connects with the punch.
Akagi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Akagi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Polo lands the left hand.
Polo jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Akagi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Polo.
Polo has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A punch lands to the side of Akagi 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Polo misses with a looping right.
Polo lands a head shot.
Akagi misses with a hook.
Polo paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Polo is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Akagi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Akagi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Polo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Akagi scrambles back to his feet.
Akagi slips under a jab from Polo.
Akagi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Polo.
Akagi throws a sloppy head kick
and Polo counters with a nice uppercut.
Polo moves out of range as Akagi strikes.
Polo throws a big counter head kick but Akagi avoids it with no problem.
Akagi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Polo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Akagi scrambles back to his feet.

Polo misses with an uppercut
and Akagi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Akagi misses with a few strikes there.
Polo doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
A shot to the body from Akagi misses
and Polo counters with a nice uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Akagi blocks a head kick by Polo.
Akagi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Polo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Polo scores with a hook to the body. Akagi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Akagi misses with a left hand
letting Polo counter with a right hand.
Akagi looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Polo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Polo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Akagi moves away.
Akagi connects with a body shot that sends Polo's belly button to the back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Doka Polo dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Polo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Akagi on the side of the head.
Akagi lands a jab to Polo's midsection.
Akagi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Polo misses with an uppercut. Akagi saw that one coming.
Polo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Akagi.
Akagi swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Polo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Akagi scores with a decent looking hook.
Polo might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Polo throws a big shot that misses.
Akagi looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Akagi throws out a loose jab but Polo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Polo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Polo throws a lazy right hand but Akagi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Polo, as that shot connected.
Akagi misses the jab.
Akagi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Polo avoids the head kick by Akagi.
Akagi takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Polo is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
A head kick misses from Akagi.
A shot to the body from Akagi misses
and Polo counters with a stiff right hand.
Akagi throws a sloppy head kick and Polo moves out of range easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Polo misses.
Doka Polo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Polo catches Akagi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Polo scores with a head kick. Akagi tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Akagi might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Akagi takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Akagi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Akagi is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Polo throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Akagi is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Doka Polo!
Doka Polo decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
