Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peoples Champion (ranked 1923 p4p, 1894 weight class) and Adrian Atkins (ranked 218 p4p, 212 weight class). Champion comes to the cage accompanied by Aegukka. Peoples Champion has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Atkins lands an impressive looking overhand right. Champion doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Peoples Champion has been cut.
Atkins moves out of range as Champion throws a body kick.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Atkins! But no joy.
Champion pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Atkins has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Champion tries to land a front kick but Atkins steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Atkins uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Champion.

Peoples Champion's cut is getting worse.
Atkins lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Atkins looks to land a combination but Champion avoids it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Champion loads up on a big right hand but Atkins slips the punch.
Atkins slips under a jab from Champion.

Atkins doesn't manage to clinch there - Champion circles away.

It seemed like Atkins was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Champion ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Atkins rushes Champion and presses him up against the cage.

Champion is trying to force a seperation but Atkins has the dominant position.

Champion's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Champion counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Atkins down! Champion is looking to finish but Atkins is intelligently defending himself.

Champion drops Atkins with a huge uppercut! Atkins drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Champion is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peoples Champion!
After the fight, Peoples Champion was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Adrian Atkins was interviewed post fight and said 'I get paid either way!'.
