The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Oliveira.
It seemed like Kristiansen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Oliveira misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Kristiansen to counter with a crisp jab.
Oliveira closes the distance and clinches up with Kristiansen, looking for a takedown. Oliveira pushes Kristiansen against the cage but Kristiansen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Archie Oliveira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Oliveira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kristiansen's waist but Kristiansen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oliveira off to one side.

Oliveira goes for a double leg but Kristiansen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kristiansen continues to drive forward.

I was talking to Oliveira's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Oliveira is breathing heavily.

Kristiansen drops Oliveira onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Oliveira is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
