Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bernard Edwards (ranked 2266 p4p, 2774 weight class) and Stephan Kinsella (ranked 284 p4p, 341 weight class). Stephan Kinsella will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bernard Edwards!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stephan Kinsella!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinsella lands a head kick. Edwards smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Edwards throws a body shot but no joy.
Kinsella misses with a straight right.
Edwards punishes Kinsella's body with a nice straight punch.
Kinsella misses with a leg kick
letting Edwards counter with a right hand.
Edwards fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kinsella looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kinsella throws a sloppy head kick and Edwards moves out of range easily.
Kinsella tries to land a leg kick but Edwards saw it coming and moves away.
Edwards has been working on his boxing with his coaches at PhoQus Island Training in the buildup to the fight.
Edwards throws a hook but Kinsella avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kinsella! But no joy.
Kinsella wants to land a leg kick but Edwards is out of range.
Kinsella does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A quick step to the side and Edwards tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Edwards walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kinsella throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A looping hook to the body misses from Edwards. Kinsella does a little dance to reset his feet.

Edwards lands a left and a right that send Kinsella crashing to the mat, dazed. Edwards thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Kinsella is rocked!

It looks like Stephan Kinsella has been cut.

Edwards rushes Kinsella and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kinsella is still on wobbly legs! Can Edwards finish him?
Kinsella jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Edwards walks away with a smile on his face. Kinsella gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kinsella seems to have recovered his senses.
Kinsella avoids the body shot from Edwards.
Kinsella has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Edwards throws an overhand right that lands on Kinsella's shoulder, as Kinsella tries to avoid the shot.
Edwards backing away here, and Kinsella unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Edwards swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Edwards closes the distance and pushes Kinsella back into the cage.

Kinsella bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kinsella shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kinsella connects with a body shot.

Kinsella tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kinsella is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Edwards to keep the fight standing.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Edwards digs a right hand into Kinsella's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kinsella's gas tank.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Edwards drops Kinsella onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Kinsella is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Edwards throws a big uppercut that drops Kinsella! More strikes from Edwards and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Kinsella lies dazed against the cage as Edwards celebrates with his cornermen!
