Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Butler Hickok (ranked 2289 p4p, 2164 weight class) and John Wesley Hardin (ranked 243 p4p, 237 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Butler Hickok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Wesley Hardin!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Hickok misses with a hook.
A little jabbing left from Hardin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hickok looks to score with a jab to the body but Hardin is just out of range.
Hickok thows a leg kick but Hardin checks it
and Hardin counters with a straight right hand.
A telegraphed right hand from Hickok misses the target.
Hardin appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hickok punishes Hardin's body with a nice straight punch.
James Butler Hickok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hardin takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Hickok fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like John Wesley Hardin has been cut.

Hickok misses with an uppercut. Hardin saw that one coming.
A nice side step and Hardin releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

It looks like James Butler Hickok has been cut.
Hickok scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Hardin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Hickok misses with a looping right.
Hardin tries to move into range but Hickok moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hickok fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hickok's corner calls for a 1-2. Hickok obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hickok gets a clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Hickok's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hickok lands with a shot to the body.

Hickok lands a big uppercut and Hardin crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hardin looks OK. Hickok waves Hardin back to his feet!

enabling Hardin to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice shot lands for Hickok.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hickok is looking to clinch but Hardin is avoiding it.
It seemed like Hardin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Hickok misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Hardin counters with a stiff right hand.
Hardin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hickok.
Hardin looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Hickok throws a poor cross that misses

and Hardin counters with a crisp right hand that drops Hickok! Hardin lets Hickok back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Hardin counters with a big right hand! Oh Hickok is in trouble here! Hardin follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
