PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stan Man (ranked 2058 p4p, 3016 weight class) and Henry Chinaski (ranked 118 p4p, 168 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Henry Chinaski was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stan Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Henry Chinaski!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man has his takedown stuffed
and Chinaski counters with a right hand to the body.
Man misses with a takedown
enabling Chinaski to counter with a crisp jab.
Man with a lazy takedown attempt
and Chinaski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stan Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Man tries for a takedown but Chinaski circles away easily
and Chinaski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Man falls off balance throwing a combination
and Chinaski counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Man gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Chinaski counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chinaski throws a good cross that connects.
Chinaski jabs Man to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Chinaski connects with a body shot that sends Man's belly button to the back.
Man misses with a takedown
and Chinaski counters with a series of strikes. Man will be more careful next time no doubt.
Chinaski moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Chinaski drops Man with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Man looks back up at him and smiles so Chinaski waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Man is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chinaski takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Oh Man is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Chinaski scores with a jab to the body.
Man seems to have got his legs back now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Man has his takedown stuffed
and Chinaski counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Man doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Chinaski counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Man gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Chinaski counters with a left to the body.
Man walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Chinaski connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Chinaski digs a good hook to Man's body.
Man takes one on the chin but seems OK.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Man gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Chinaski counters with a stiff right hand.
Chinaski fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Man changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chinaski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Chinaski explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Chinaski lands a big right hand that sends Man crashing to the mat! Chinaski stays standing though and waves Man back to his feet!

Chinaski scores with a shot to the body.
Chinaski clobbers Man with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Chinaski throws a shot to the body.
Chinaski tests Man's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A shot to the liver by Chinaski. Beautiful body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Man takes one to the side of the head.
Chinaski cracks Man with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Man closes the distance and pushes Chinaski back into the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Henry Chinaski dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Man takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Stan Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Man fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Chinaski to the ground. Man is now in Chinaski's guard.
Man wants to control from the top but Chinaski keeps moving.
Man keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Chinaski's head.
Chinaski looking for a sweep. Not yet Chinaski, not yet.
Man scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Man trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Chinaski is looking to sweep but instead, Man has passed into half guard.
Chinaski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Man. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chinaski is trying to stand up here but Man is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chinaski is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Man has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Chinaski is tapping! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Stan Man!
