PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Moroney (ranked 6262 p4p, 24504 weight class) and Kalle Kula (ranked 598 p4p, 614 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Moroney might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Seek and Destroy - Metallica. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moroney with a poor takedown
and Kula counters with a straight right hand.
Moroney tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kula counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Moroney closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Moroney tries to clinch but Kula moves away
and Kula cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Moroney looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Moroney is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kula.
Kula lands with an uppercut that bounces Moroney off the cage and back into range.
Kula fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Moroney looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Moroney gets in close and instigates a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd are getting on Kula's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Kula is working Moroney over against the cage.
Moroney is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kula is keeping busy.
Moroney trying to control the position but instead, Kula has worked for underhooks and has pushed Moroney into the cage.
Moroney seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Kula is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

Kalle Kula is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kula scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Moroney looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kula lands with an overhand left.
Moroney takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kula cracks Moroney with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Kula scores with a nice head shot.
A nice leg kick from Moroney, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kula moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Nice uppercut lands for Kula. That snapped Moroney's head back.
Kula thuds his right hand into Moroney's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Moroney darts in trying to clinch
enabling Kula to counter with a crisp jab.

Moroney is rocked!
Kula is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Moroney had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Kula connects with a body shot.
Moroney throws a leg kick but Kula sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Moroney drops his hands momentarily and Kula takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Oh Moroney is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Moroney gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Kula gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
