Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Shalashaska (ranked 201 p4p, 382 weight class) and Ed Green (ranked 11 p4p, 24 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Shalashaska!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Green!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Green closes the distance and clinches up with Shalashaska, looking for a takedown. Green pushes Shalashaska against the cage but Shalashaska circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shalashaska wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Shalashaska avoids a punch combination nicely.
Green swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shalashaska drops down looking for a counter takedown but Green sprawls and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Shalashaska drops down looking for a counter takedown but Green sprawls and moves away.

We've been hearing reports that Shalashaska has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Green tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shalashaska just stands there and leans against the cage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Green has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Adam Shalashaska has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ed Green.

Green jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shalashaska walks away with a smile on his face. Green gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Green closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Green is looking to advance position but Shalashaska won't allow it.

Green tries to pass the half guard into mount. Shalashaska knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Green is taking a breather. Shalashaska says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Green is looking to pass to full mount but he's left his head exposed in the process. Shalashaska has locked up a guillotine and regained full guard. He's really cranking on it - this could be the end! Is it? Is it? No... YES! YES! He's tapped! I didn't think he was going to get it there for a minute but he did! Well done Shalashaska! He waited for his chance and took it!
