Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alee Ideaale (ranked 2404 p4p, 2873 weight class) and Fabio Gurgel (ranked 334 p4p, 391 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabio Gurgel!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurgel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Ideaale darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Gurgel felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Gurgel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ideaale is working away from the top position though.

Gurgel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ideaale defends it easily.

Gurgel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ideaale moves away.
A telegraphed right hand from Ideaale misses the target.

Ideaale shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ideaale was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gurgel tries to improve position but can't.

Ideaale thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ideaale wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gurgel, who protects the arm well.

Ideaale will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gurgel is trying desperately to improve position.

Gurgel reaches up and pulls Ideaale towards him, trying to control the position. Ideaale manages to get a guillotine from the mount though! This could be big trouble for Gurgel! Gurgel tries to roll over - now Ideaale is on the bottom but the guillotine is really deep and Gurgel has to tap out! Great work there by Ideaale!

Alee Ideaale spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
