PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darstknasset Oystenteller (ranked 2538 p4p, 5568 weight class) and Uncle Roger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darstknasset Oystenteller had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darstknasset Oystenteller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Uncle Roger!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roger bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Oystenteller's head.
Uncle Roger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oystenteller keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Oystenteller misses with a hook.
Oystenteller darts in looking for a takedown but Roger gets double underhooks and turns Oystenteller into the cage.
Oystenteller has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Roger is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Roger is trying to drag Oystenteller to the mat but Oystenteller just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Roger misses with a body punch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roger tries to stall but Oystenteller uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Roger is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Roger chips away with some ground and pound.

Roger lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Roger throws a strike but Oystenteller rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Oystenteller throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Roger works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Oystenteller keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Roger's head.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Roger holds on and takes a little breather.
Roger is trying to keep Oystenteller in close.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roger can do anything to dispel that myth.
Oystenteller advances position into side control!

Oystenteller tries to move to mount but Roger blocks the move with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roger is looking for a sweep.
Oystenteller working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Oystenteller lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Roger down.
Roger struggling a bit here.
Oystenteller throws an elbow but Roger slips to the side and avoids it well.
The ground and pound from Oystenteller seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Oystenteller cracks Roger with a big right hand but Roger just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Oystenteller wants to control but Roger is keeping him busy.
Oystenteller misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Oystenteller looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Oystenteller wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roger keeps working.
Oystenteller landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Oystenteller throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Roger is working to avoid the ground and pound but Oystenteller connects with a decent elbow.
Oystenteller working the body and head with strikes.
Oystenteller throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Oystenteller cracks Roger with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Oystenteller tries to score with some ground and pound. Roger controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Oystenteller lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Roger down.
Roger is not content to let Oystenteller control the position.
Roger looks winded!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Oystenteller controls the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Oystenteller shoots in and gets a takedown into Roger's guard.
Oystenteller slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Oystenteller has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Roger wants to get back to his feet but Oystenteller drags him back down.
Oystenteller works to advance to full mount. Roger defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Roger is wriggling around trying to escape.

Roger tries to hold on but Oystenteller postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oystenteller jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Roger manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Roger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oystenteller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Roger is not content to let Oystenteller control the position.
Oystenteller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Oystenteller has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Roger!
Roger is breathing heavily.
Oystenteller lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Roger has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Oystenteller's lack of action.
Oystenteller is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Roger is trying to control but can't.
Oystenteller throwing shots but Roger is blocking nicely.
Oystenteller prevents Roger from improving his position.
Roger avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Oystenteller.
Oystenteller wants to take a breather but Roger is having none of it.

Oystenteller maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Roger could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Oystenteller has cracked it and Roger is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Oystenteller!
