PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dario Reis (ranked 3692 p4p, 3224 weight class) and Darstknasset Oystenteller (ranked 426 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dario Reis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darstknasset Oystenteller!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis leaves Oystenteller with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Reis throws a body shot but no joy.
Oystenteller shoots in for a double leg but Reis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reis is looking to counter punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reis. Oystenteller does a little dance to reset his feet.
Oystenteller shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reis defends it nicely.
Dario Reis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darstknasset Oystenteller.
A big left from Reis misses.
Oystenteller changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Dario Reis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oystenteller fails in his attempt to clinch.
Oystenteller throws a hook to the side of Reis's head but Reis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oystenteller keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Oystenteller misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Reis.
A little feinted left hand from Reis on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Oystenteller closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Oystenteller looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Oystenteller is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Reis.
Oystenteller shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reis as he avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horrible takedown attempt by Oystenteller or perhaps it was just good defense by Reis, which made it look bad.
Reis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Oystenteller's head backwards.
A jab from Reis misses.
A swing and a miss from Reis.
Oystenteller is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Reis misses with a hook.
Reis is breathing heavily.
Reis misses with a right hand

and Oystenteller counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oystenteller is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Reis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reis tries to get out of the position.
Oystenteller working over Reis with some ground and pound. Reis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Oystenteller keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Reis missing with punches from the bottom.
Oystenteller looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oystenteller looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Reis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Reis tries to get to full guard but Oystenteller has control of the leg.
Oystenteller works his way into side control.
Reis gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oystenteller landing strikes from the mount.
Oystenteller landing punches.

Reis has left one of his arms exposed and Oystenteller doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Reis screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Darstknasset Oystenteller!
A relieved looking Darstknasset Oystenteller thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
