The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sykov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Python but Python pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sloppy strikes from Python. Those never looked like landing.
Sykov attempts a counter takedown but Python avoids it well and moves away.
Sykov takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Python misses with a straight left.

Sykov clinches up with Python and pushes him back against the cage.
Sykov jumps guard but Python turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Python has had enough of the clinch but Sykov keeps him there for the moment.
Python is trying to push Sykov away but Sykov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sykov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Python's efforts to push away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Python got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sykov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Python has managed to get both his arms back between Sykov's legs - danger averted.

Sykov looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Python is defending well. Sykov quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Python has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Sykov celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Alexei Sykov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
