The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soltvedt closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Soltvedt shoots in for a takedown but Fallas shows good takedown defense.
Fallas tries to counter with a takedown but Soltvedt is quick to defend against it.

Fallas closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Soltvedt's guard.
Fallas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fallas has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soltvedt can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fallas seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Soltvedt for as long as he can get away with.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fallas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Soltvedt is trying to defend but Fallas finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Fallas slips a nice elbow through Soltvedt's hands, connecting with Soltvedt's forehead.
Soltvedt has hold of Fallas's hands but Fallas slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Fallas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big strike lands for Fallas! That's really hurt Soltvedt and he's turned his back - Fallas keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Fallas jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
