The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lippmaa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Laird's waist but Laird gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lippmaa off to one side.

Laird is sitting in close to Lippmaa's body. Lippmaa has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Laird is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Laird is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lippmaa.

After the fight, Mairo Lippmaa was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
