Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ichioka Kaori (ranked 801 p4p, 3476 weight class) and Dmitry Boytsov (ranked 118 p4p, 469 weight class). Kaori comes into the arena with GOZEN blaring out of the sound system. Ichioka Kaori has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boytsov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaori scores with a leg kick.
Boytsov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kaori sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Boytsov throws a sloppy head kick and Kaori moves out of range easily.

Kaori tries to sprawl but Boytsov drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Kaori is looking to escape.
Kaori is not content to let Boytsov control the position.

Boytsov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kaori doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Boytsov.
Kaori is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boytsov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Boytsov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kaori has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kaori's coaches at Brotherhood MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Kaori wants to get back to his feet.

Kaori makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Boytsov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Boytsov gets tackled into the cage by Kaori. Kaori maintains the clinch.
Kaori throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Boytsov manages to break the clinch.

Kaori throws a jab when Boytsov was well out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boytsov is defended easily by Kaori.
Kaori was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Boytsov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Boytsov lands in his opponent's guard.

Boytsov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kaori is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Boytsov, into his guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Boytsov looking for a guillotine here but Kaori defends easily.

Kaori wanted to stand there but Boytsov had control of the position.

Kaori got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boytsov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kaori has managed to get both his arms back between Boytsov's legs - danger averted.

Boytsov is working an open guard so Kaori takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Boytsov shoots for a takedown but Kaori saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ichioka Kaori has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitry Boytsov.

A nice right hand lands inside from Kaori.

Boytsov content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Kaori manages to break the clinch.
Boytsov fails with the takedown.

Kaori has closed the distance and engaged Boytsov in a clinch.
Boytsov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kaori digs a right hand into Boytsov's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Boytsov's gas tank.
Boytsov looks winded!
Kaori lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Boytsov or not.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kaori lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Boytsov tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kaori's elbow.
Boytsov jumps guard but Kaori turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Kaori pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ichioka Kaori dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Boytsov closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kaori counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Boytsov throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Kaori throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Boytsov counters with a straight right hand.

Kaori moves into the clinch.
Boytsov tries for a takedown. No joy.

Kaori breaks the clinch.

Kaori drives through and clinches with Boytsov against the cage.

and Boytsov counters with a stiff right hand.
Boytsov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kaori defends well and Boytsov ends up having to push Kaori into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Kaori counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Boytsov badly! He tries to strike back but Kaori puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Boytsov out cold! Oh man, Boytsov will never hear the end of this one!
