The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Phillips scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Phillips bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Franco throws a head kick but Phillips moves out of range.
Phillips avoids the head kick by Franco.
Phillips feints and then cracks Franco's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Franco down.
Juan David Franco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Franco lands with a kick to the temple. Phillips shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Phillips chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Franco can pounce on him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Franco fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Phillips has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Phillips throws the left hand but Franco avoids the punch easily.

Franco throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Phillips lands a big right hand that sends Franco crashing to the mat! Phillips stays standing though and waves Franco back to his feet!

It looks like Juan David Franco has been cut.

Phillips shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Franco napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Franco wants to get back to his feet but Phillips is dominant here and he's now got Franco's back!
Franco is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Phillips off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
