The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bartonek drives through and clinches with Brassi against the cage.

Bartonek changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brassi fights it off and pushes away nicely.

As Brassi tries to get set, Bartonek tries to push him back and clinch up but Brassi manages to avoid the attempt.

Brassi let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Brassi shoots in looking for a takedown but Bartonek manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brassi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Brassi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bartonek can pounce on him.

Bartonek ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brassi moves away.
It seemed like Brassi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Brassi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bartonek rather than just go for the knockout.

and Brassi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Zdenek Bartonek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brassi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Brassi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bartonek tries to avoid it but Brassi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bartonek to the ground. Bartonek escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bartonek lands a left and a right that send Brassi crashing to the mat, dazed. Bartonek thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
