PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Locke (ranked 3970 p4p, 3967 weight class) and TJ Stuber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Locke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, TJ Stuber!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Darius Henderson and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Locke has closed the distance and engaged Stuber in a clinch.
Locke is pushing Stuber up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Stuber will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Locke up against the cage.
Locke goes for a takedown attempt but Stuber pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Some bone on bone action there as Locke checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Locke seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Locke is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Stuber pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Stuber turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Stuber manages to end up in side control.
Locke is looking to get back to his feet here but Stuber is keeping cool and he's managed to take Locke's back.

Stuber lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Stuber tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Stuber throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Locke's waist but Locke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stuber off to one side.
Locke leaves Stuber with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Locke is looking to clinch but Stuber is avoiding it.

Stuber fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Locke to the ground. Stuber is now in Locke's guard.
Locke wants to stand but Stuber is controlling the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to TJ Stuber.
I think Stuber has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
