Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Vovchanchyn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vovchanchyn comes into the arena with the game blaring out of the sound system. Khalidov has chosen Punks Jump Up To Get Beatdown as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalidov throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Khalidov is looking to clinch but Vovchanchyn is avoiding it.
Vovchanchyn bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Khalidov's head backwards.
Khalidov stuffs the takedown.

Khalidov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Vovchanchyn takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Khalidov looks to score with a jab to the body but Vovchanchyn is just out of range.
Khalidov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Vovchanchyn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Khalidov is just riding it out for now. Vovchanchyn eventually gives up the hold.
Vovchanchyn is nestled in close to Khalidov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Khalidov has hold of Vovchanchyn's hands but Vovchanchyn slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vovchanchyn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Khalidov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vovchanchyn is one step ahead there.

Vovchanchyn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Khalidov is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Khalidov has escaped and now he's on top!
Khalidov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Khalidov wants to control from the top but Vovchanchyn keeps moving.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vovchanchyn working a defensive guard but Khalidov manages to pass into side control anyway.
Khalidov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vovchanchyn keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Khalidov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vovchanchyn throws out the jab.
Vovchanchyn stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Khalidov.
Khalidov dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vovchanchyn. That did some damage!

and Khalidov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vovchanchyn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Khalidov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vovchanchyn somewhat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Vovchanchyn checks a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Wanderlei Vovchanchyn will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A left and a right from Khalidov both land. Nice combination.
Vovchanchyn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Khalidov.

Khalidov is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Vovchanchyn is keeping busy.

Vovchanchyn tries to bum rush Khalidov with a series of wild strikes but Khalidov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Vovchanchyn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Khalidov's waist but Khalidov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vovchanchyn off to one side.
