PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andy Slappin (ranked 5236 p4p, 5374 weight class) and Soshito Nakagata Jr (ranked 352 p4p, 356 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Soshito Nakagata Jr was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andy Slappin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Soshito Nakagata Jr!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakagata Jr tries to clinch there but Slappin circles away.
Nakagata Jr fails with the takedown

and Slappin moves into the clinch.
Slappin wants a takedown but no success here.
Slappin prevents a takedown attempt there.

Slappin gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Nakagata Jr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Slappin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakagata Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've been hearing that Slappin has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Slappin connects with a nice short shot to Nakagata Jr's temple.

Well Slappin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
