Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Ricky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricky kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Momma said KNOCK U OUT!. Evans is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ready For Some Aksion. Doug Ricky could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rashad Evans's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug Ricky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricky tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Evans swivels and escapes.
Ricky blocks a jab.

Ricky tries to clinch but Evans is having none of it.
Doug Ricky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ricky misses with a takedown attempt - Evans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ricky uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Evans.
Ricky shoots in but no luck this time.

Evans throws a right hand that Ricky ducks under and follows up with a left that Ricky also avoids with ease.
Evans cracks Ricky with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Evans motions for Ricky to come forward. Evans throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ricky steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Evans.
Ricky blocks a jab.
Evans fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ricky manages to avoid it.
Ricky bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Evans throws an overhand right that lands on Ricky's shoulder, as Ricky tries to avoid the shot.
Evans swats away the attempt to clinch by Ricky.

Ricky closes the distance and clinches.

Ricky's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ricky misses with a jab, cross combination.
No luck for Ricky with that takedown attempt.
Ricky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Evans throws out the jab.
Ricky tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Evans paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Evans lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Evans connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Evans throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Evans is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Evans throws the kick towards the body but Ricky avoids it.
Ricky wants to clinch up but Evans keeps it at a distance.
Doug Ricky is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ricky tries for a takedown but Evans sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Evans tries to keep at a distance but Ricky has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ricky has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Evans is trying to keep an underhook but Ricky manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Ricky takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ricky is keen to just control but Evans is a slippery customer.
Ricky looks to land a strike but Evans avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Ricky drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Evans dives on top into guard.

Ricky working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Evans doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Evans manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Evans gets to his feet. Ricky looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rashad Evans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Evans gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Oh Ricky is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Evans closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Ricky out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rashad Evans!
