Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kugus Amiga (ranked 23934 p4p, 24126 weight class) and Rico Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kugus Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Amiga tries to sprawl but Salvacion drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Salvacion is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Amiga wants to get back to full guard.
Amiga keeps control of the position for the meantime.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like Salvacion might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Amiga controlling the position for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Salvacion looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Amiga wants to sweep here but Salvacion controlling him for the moment.

Salvacion is fighting to break Amiga's control of his arms but Amiga is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Amiga has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Salvacion is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salvacion's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Salvacion closes the distance and clinches up with Amiga, looking for a takedown. Salvacion pushes Amiga against the cage but Amiga circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Salvacion drives through with a takedown into guard.

Amiga pulls Salvacion in close to prevent any damage.
Salvacion slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Amiga holds on and takes a little breather.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Amiga is trying to keep Salvacion in close.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Amiga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Amiga is controlling Salvacion's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Salvacion looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Amiga trying to control but Salvacion postures up.
Salvacion seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Salvacion prevents Amiga from improving his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Salvacion takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Salvacion working over Amiga with some ground and pound. Amiga looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Salvacion.
Amiga fires out a quick counter leg kick but Salvacion just manages to avoid it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rico Salvacion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Amiga looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Salvacion!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Amiga takes a little break here. Salvacion wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Salvacion is trying to control Amiga's posture but Amiga avoids it.

Rico Salvacion has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck for Amiga with that takedown attempt.
Salvacion changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Amiga changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Salvacion tries to avoid it but Amiga manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Salvacion to the ground. Salvacion escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Salvacion appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Salvacion closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Salvacion lands in his opponent's guard.

Amiga is pulling down on Salvacion's head to control his posture.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kugus Amiga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rico Salvacion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kugus Amiga.
Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
