Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pelosi Davito (ranked 1816 p4p, 2024 weight class) and Donovan Sharpe (ranked 232 p4p, 259 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharpe bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Davito's head.
Donovan Sharpe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sharpe moves into the clinch.
Sharpe has Davito pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Davito manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Davito misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Davito prevents the takedown attempt.
Davito tries to throw a body punch but Sharpe avoids it by throwing Davito back against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Davito.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sharpe has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Pelosi Davito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donovan Sharpe.
Sharpe is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Davito gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Sharpe is trying to drag Davito to the mat but Davito just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Crunch! Davito slams his shin into Sharpe's torso.

Sharpe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Davito can pounce on him.

and Davito counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Davito as Sharpe shoots in.
Davito throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sharpe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Davito lands a big uppercut and Sharpe crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Sharpe looks OK. Davito waves Sharpe back to his feet!

Sharpe is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davito grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Sharpe takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Davito cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Pelosi Davito tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
