PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Susudo (ranked 3867 p4p, 4102 weight class) and Dennis Moody (ranked 0 p4p, 472 weight class). Susudo has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fabio Susudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dennis Moody!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moody has managed to clinch.

Moody jumps guard.

Moody is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Susudo is fighting to break Moody's control of his arms but Moody is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Moody looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Moody wants to sweep here but Susudo controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moody is pulling down on Susudo's head. It's preventing any offense from Susudo, at least for the moment.
Moody is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Moody is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Moody is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Susudo is just riding it out for now. Moody eventually gives up the hold.

Let's hope that Moody has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Moody is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Susudo sees it coming and defends easily.

Moody has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Moody can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Susudo is looking to escape.

Moody stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Moody shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Susudo's guard.

Moody is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Susudo enables Moody to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Susudo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dennis Moody has got the better of the ground game so far.

Moody is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Susudo wants to get back to full guard.
Moody seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Moody works his foot free and advances to mount.
Susudo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Moody. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Moody is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Susudo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Susudo shrugs it off.

Dennis Moody showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Moody lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Moody has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Susudo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Moody wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Moody postures up in Susudo's guard and throws a big left but Susudo blocks it.
Moody stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Susudo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Moody postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Susudo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moody can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Susudo wants to sweep here but Moody controlling him for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well Moody has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
