Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carson Justice (ranked 1094 p4p, 1709 weight class) and Jacob Handler (ranked 160 p4p, 235 weight class). Carson Justice has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carson Justice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Handler!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Justice drags the fight down to the ground.

Handler is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Justice is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Justice has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Handler wants to sweep but no luck.
Justice engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Handler has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Justice is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Handler.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Handler is looking to regain half guard here but Justice keeps moving and retains side control.
Justice gets to mount! Handler was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Handler tries to improve his position but instead Justice has taken his back!
Justice is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Justice continues to stall.
Handler is really stuck here.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Handler is trying to break free.

Handler is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Justice controlling the position well here. Handler rolled but Justice kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Justice doesn't have the hooks in and Handler manages to turn into his guard.
Justice is trying to control the position but Handler postures up.
Justice bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Handler's guard.

Justice is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Our spies down at at Canadian Combat Academy inform us that Handler has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Handler has his foot on Justice's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Justice works his way back into a safe position though.
Handler wants to get back to his feet but Justice is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Handler is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Justice defends well.
Justice is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Justice sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Handler's guard.
Justice is controlling the pace.
Justice is trying to control. Handler wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Handler manages to get to full guard.
Handler wants to stand up but Justice is controlling him.
Justice seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Justice is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Justice forces his way into half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Handler loads up on a big right hand but Justice slips the punch.
Handler throws a series of punches but Justice moves out of range.

Justice takes the fight into the clinch.
Justice tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Handler smiles and moves away.
Justice uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Handler.
Handler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Justice.

Handler decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Justice trying to hold on to Handler's head to control him but Handler postures up.
Justice gets back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Handler is in close to Justice's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Justice throws his legs up looking for a submission but Handler uses it to pass to side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Handler working away.
Handler lands a few punches from side control.
Justice is working to avoid the ground and pound but Handler connects with a decent elbow.
Handler in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Handler is working Justice over with some ground and pound from side control.
Justice is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Handler off and has taken his back!
Handler breaks Justice's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Justice pushes a forearm under Handler's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Handler is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Carson Justice!
