Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Murphy (ranked 4971 p4p, 24726 weight class) and King Trevena (ranked 500 p4p, 567 weight class). Trevena has chosen Sing For The Moment as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gunnar Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, King Trevena !
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like King Trevena has been cut.
Murphy dives in for a single leg takedown but Trevena sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Trevena is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Trevena drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Murphy is pressed up against the cage. Trevena has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Murphy down to the mat. Murphy avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Murphy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Trevena looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Trevena looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Trevena !
Trevena misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Murphy is trying to buck Trevena off.

Trevena cracks Murphy with a big right hand but Murphy just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Trevena creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Murphy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Murphy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Trevena asserts his dominance and retains side control.

We've been informed that Trevena has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Trevena has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Trevena stuffs the takedown attempt from Murphy. Murphy gets slowly back to his feet.
Trevena tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Trevena walks straight into a right hand from Murphy - that's dropped him! Murphy jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Trevena from any more punishment! Trevena complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
