Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sambo Sam (ranked 1920 p4p, 1904 weight class) and Aaron Marxer (ranked 259 p4p, 254 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sambo Sam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Marxer!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sam shoots in and drives through. Marxer sprawls well.
Marxer throws a hook but Sam avoids it easily.
Marxer misses with a straight left.
Marxer throws a head kick that misses
and Sam counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Marxer is trying to get back to full guard.
Marxer gets full guard.
Sam trying to control but Marxer is working from the bottom.
Marxer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sam is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marxer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Marxer is looking for a triangle but Sam pushes his legs off easily.
Sam slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sam lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Marxer down.
Sam is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Marxer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sam tries to move to mount but Marxer blocks the move with his legs.
Sam is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Marxer has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sam looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Marxer defending against the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sam is trying to get an arm triangle but Marxer is defending well.
Sam is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Marxer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sam is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Marxer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Marxer looks to move to half guard but instead Sam has passed into mount! Damn!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marxer is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Sam locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Marxer is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sambo Sam!
