The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hurry gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Vilkas throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hurrys head.
Hurry blocks an uppercut.
Vilkas blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hurry misses with a hook to the ribs.
Vilkas swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hurry tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vilkas's elbow.

Hurry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hurry keeps the fight on the outside.

I was talking to Hurry's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Vilkas lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Never Hurry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hurry avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hurry closes the distance and clinches.

Hurry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hurry moves into range and clinches up with Vilkas.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vilkas scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Hurry blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Vilkas tries to throw a body punch but Hurry avoids it by throwing Vilkas back against the cage.

Hurry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Vilkas clinches with his opponent.

Hurry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice uppercut lands for Vilkas. That snapped Hurry's head back.

Hurry throws a left that rocks Vilkas and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Hurry dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Vilkas regain composure!

It looks like Deividas Vilkas has been cut.
You can see the frustration on Vilkas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vilkas gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Vilkas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hurry is working away from the top position though.

Hurry seems to be working for a kimura but Vilkas defends the submission attempt.
Vilkas is refusing to be controlled, as Hurry sits in half guard.
Vilkas moves into full guard.
Vilkas keeping moving, preventing Hurry from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hurry trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Vilkas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hurry tries to get to full guard but Vilkas has control of the leg.
Vilkas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hurry keeps working.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Never Hurry will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Deividas Vilkas's cut.
That's time! Hurry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Vilkas closes the distance and clinches.

Hurry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Hurry has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hurry lands a left hand that snaps the head of Vilkas backwards.
Vilkas swings wildly with an uppercut but Hurry uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hurry lands a right hand that snaps the head of Vilkas backwards.
Hurry blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hurry blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hurry misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hurry tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vilkas's elbow.
Vilkas pushes Hurry back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Hurry tries to break free but Vilkas pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hurry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hurry misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hurry avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vilkas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hurry throws out the jab.
Hurry throws a head kick but Vilkas moves out of range.
Vilkas wants to clinch.

Hurry gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Vilkas gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Hurry is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
