Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Buckley (ranked 4431 p4p, 4343 weight class) and Byron Neal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Byron Neal!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Buckley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Neal tries to kick Buckley off in order to stand up. Buckley Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neal tries to escape but Buckley is in control.

Buckley stands up and beckons Neal to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neal closes the distance and pushes Buckley back into the cage.

Buckley fails in his attempt to clinch.

Neal shoots in looking for a takedown. Buckley tries to sprawl out of it but Neal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Buckley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Buckley tries to counter by clinching up but Neal breaks away and moves out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Buckley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Neal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Buckley has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Neal is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
