PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toti Rotiz (ranked 2756 p4p, 2546 weight class) and Bo Hogan (ranked 371 p4p, 351 weight class). Rotiz's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Southtown . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rotiz throws a hook but Hogan blocks it.

and Hogan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rotiz's guard.
Hogan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Rotiz keeping moving, preventing Hogan from controlling successfully.
Hogan looking to sit in guard and control but Rotiz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hogan is looking for a triangle but Rotiz pushes his legs off easily.

Rotiz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hogan on the ground.

Hogan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rotiz is working Hogan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Rotiz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hogan wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rotiz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rotiz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've been hearing that Rotiz has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Hogan is rocked!

It looks like Bo Hogan has been cut.
Rotiz engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hogan is still in real trouble! Can Rotiz finish him?
Rotiz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hogan's head.
Rotiz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rotiz loads up on a big left hand. Hogan felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Rotiz looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Hogan can't hide his disappointment, as Rotiz celebrates the victory.

Toti Rotiz was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
