The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes throws a body punch but Garrett moves out of range.

Gomes changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Garrett's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gomes connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Garrett scrambles back to his feet.

Gomes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Garrett knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
