Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Mith (ranked 1244 p4p, 460 weight class) and Vladimir Plusnin (ranked 192 p4p, 75 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Mith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Plusnin!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plusnin on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Mith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Plusnin with the counter takedown but Mith avoids it easily.
Mith moves away from the strike by Plusnin.
Mith looks to score with a jab to the body but Plusnin is just out of range.
Mith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mith scores with a shot to the body.
Plusnin shoots for a double leg takedown but Mith sprawls well. He's pushed Plusnin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mith lands with an uppercut that bounces Plusnin off the cage and back into range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Plusnin misses its intended target.
Mith appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Plusnin misses with a double jab
and Mith counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Plusnin thinking.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Plusnin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Mith looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Plusnin.
Mith connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A swing and a miss from Plusnin.
Mith drops Plusnin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Plusnin looks back up at him and smiles so Mith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Plusnin is rocked!
It looks like Vladimir Plusnin has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Plusnin misses with a lunging right hand
and Mith counters with a huge right that knocks Plusnin out cold! Mith is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Andre Mith!
