The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slam misses with a wild body shot.
Fuentes shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Fuentes throws a right hand that misses
and Slam counters with a left to the body.
Fuentes slips a jab from Slam.
Slam throws a right hand that Fuentes ducks under and follows up with a left that Fuentes also avoids with ease.
Slam throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fuentes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've been informed that Slam has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Donk. Fuentes catches Slam right on the button with a cross.

It looks like Ben Slam has been cut.
Slam fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Fuentes checks it well.
Slam walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Fuentes throws a sloppy head kick and Slam moves out of range easily.
Slam lands with a nice body kick.
Slam looks to land a right hand but Fuentes moved out of range.
Fuentes misses with an uppercut. Slam saw that one coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slam throws a jab when Fuentes was well out of range.

Fuentes tries to score with a low kick but Slam moves his leg out of the way.
Slam scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Fuentes has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Memento Mori in the buildup to the fight.
Slam moves out of range as Fuentes strikes.
The fighters circling - Slam throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Slam connects with a crisp jab.
Slam lands with a nice combination. Fuentes backs away looking to recover.

Slam works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Fuentes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Fuentes appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Slam lands with a kick to the ribs.

Slam misses with a left hand
and Fuentes counters with a straight right hand.
Slam missing with a left hand there. Fuentes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Slam swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Slam, as that shot connected.
Ben Slam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fuentes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Slam.
Slam misses with a hook. Fuentes ducked under it nicely.
Fuentes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Slam.

and Slam makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Fuentes really felt that one!
Fuentes is breathing heavily.

Slam cracks Fuentes with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Fuentes looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Slam finish him?

and Slam counters with a left to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Slam.

Slam lands a big head kick that sends Fuentes tumbling to the mat! Slam takes a step backwards and waves Fuentes back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Slam cracks Fuentes with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Slam has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Fuentes to stand back up!
