Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nero Hardy (ranked 1342 p4p, 3244 weight class) and Stu Redman (ranked 174 p4p, 391 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nero Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redman jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nice shot lands for Hardy.
Redman lunges at Hardy with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hardy's hand.
Good standup being displayed there by Hardy as he connects with a hook.
Hardy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hardy takes the fight into the clinch.
Redman is trying to break the clinch but Hardy is controlling him.
Redman gets underhooks to prevent Hardy's takedown attempt.

Hardy has hold of one of Redman's legs. Redman is fighting the takedown attempt but Hardy gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hardy wants to control from the top but Redman keeps moving.

Hardy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Hardy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Redman's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Redman wants to stand and escape but Hardy is having none of it.

Redman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hardy is aware though and is defending well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Redman misses with a looping right.
Redman scores with a three punch combo!
Redman has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Hardy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Redman tries to kick Hardy off but Hardy keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hardy wants to work for an arm triangle but Redman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Redman is trying to maintain the position but Hardy is very close to passing his half guard.
Redman is not content to let Hardy control the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hardy passes to side control.
Redman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hardy moves into full mount!
Hardy fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Redman can't escape the position.
Hardy scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Redman is bucking up trying to escape but Hardy cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Hardy is landing with some decent strikes but Redman is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hardy controlling the pace for now.
Hardy working the ground and pound effectively.
Hardy punishing his opponent with strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hardy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Redman tries to improve his position but instead Hardy has taken his back!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nero Hardy dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hardy drives through and clinches with Redman against the cage.
Redman misses with the head strike.
Redman trying to stall but Hardy improves his position.

Redman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Redman on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Redman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hardy waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Redman.
Hardy tries to clinch there but Redman circles away.
Redman throws a series of punches but Hardy avoids them all with ease.
Hardy tries to counter with a takedown but Redman is quick to defend against it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Redman. Hardy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Redman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hardy lands with a shot to the body.
Redman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A telegraphed right hand from Redman misses the target.
Hardy appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Redman throws the left hand but Hardy avoids the punch easily.
Redman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Redman bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hardy's head backwards.

and Hardy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Hardy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Redman scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Hardy manages to mount him!

Hardy jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Redman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Redman and Hardy has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Redman is trying to get back to half guard.

Hardy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hardy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hardy wants to control but Redman is keeping him busy.

Redman taking a bit of punishment here - Hardy scoring with strikes.
Hardy works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Redman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hardy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Redman tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Hardy lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Hardy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Redman tries to hold on but Hardy postures up.

Redman takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Hardy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Redman to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Redman shrugs it off.
Hardy controlling the pace for now.
Hardy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hardy tries to control but Redman wriggling away.
Redman is in all sorts of trouble here.

Redman wants to control but Hardy is having none of it.

Hardy looking for a guillotine from mount but Redman is having none of it.
Redman is looking to improve his position but Hardy isn't that keen on the idea.
The referee warns Redman that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hardy prevents Redman from getting the reversal.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nero Hardy dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Hardy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Redman is fending him off so far but Hardy persists. Nope, Redman circles away and we're back to standing.
Hardy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Redman.
Hardy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Redman moves away.
Hardy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Redman scores with a sloppy right hand. Hardy should have avoided that one.
Hardy swings away with a body shot that misses
and Redman counters with a nice uppercut.

Hardy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Redman!

Redman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hardy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hardy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Redman can do to turn this around?
Hardy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Redman is looking to escape.
Redman tries to hold on but Hardy postures up.
Redman tries to control the position but Hardy now has his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hardy lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Redman wants to get back to his feet.
Hardy seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Hardy's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Hardy has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Redman's body.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardy keeps control of the position as Redman tries to break free.
Hardy has Redman flattened out and is raining down punches.

Hardy is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Redman defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Hardy has the hooks in. Redman is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Redman wants to get back to his feet.
Hardy lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Hardy.

Hardy working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Hardy is not going to allow Redman to sit and survive in this position.

Hardy is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Redman taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Hardy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nero Hardy!
Nero Hardy really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Paddy's Enhancing Drugs (160Q) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
