PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harris Mint (ranked 1100 p4p, 1104 weight class) and Bofur Widenose (ranked 156 p4p, 157 weight class). Harris Mint had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harris Mint!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bofur Widenose!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Widenose avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mint lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Mint throws a hook to the side of Widenose's head but Widenose sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Widenose drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Mint is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Widenose defends well.

Mint escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Widenose gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Widenose working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
