Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Amakusa Saneuji (ranked 1008 p4p, 1671 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 58 p4p, 97 weight class). Saneuji comes to the ring accompanied by Zen Spirit. The key to victory for Amakusa Saneuji has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Amakusa Saneuji!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Smith!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saneuji goes for a double leg but Smith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Smith continues to drive forward.
Smith changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Smith wants the takedown. Saneuji is fighting it off but Smith persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Saneuji's guard against the ropes.

Saneuji is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.
Smith cracks Saneuji with a solid left hand.

Saneuji really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith is in close to Saneuji's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Saneuji has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saneuji. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Saneuji has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saneuji has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Saneuji's legs - danger averted.

Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Saneuji with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Smith reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Smith taps out! Nice BJJ there by Saneuji!
