This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 17 losses; Billy Turturro! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 25 losses; Ruben Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
Turturro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gracie as he jumps to the side.
Gracie gets tackled into the cage by Turturro. Turturro maintains the clinch.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Turturro manages to get underhooks.
Turturro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gracie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Gracie jumps into guard, dragging Turturro to the mat.
Turturro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie being controlled here, momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turturro trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Turturro is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Turturro has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Gracie wants to sweep but no luck.
Turturro is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Turturro looking to improve position, pressing down on Gracie's thigh with his hand. Gracie seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Turturro paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Turturro's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Gracie picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
