Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Latka Gravas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cassius Swank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swank is looking to clinch.
Swank tries for a takedown but Gravas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Gravas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gravas throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Swank wants to get back to his feet.
Gravas drops an elbow to the side of Swank's head.
Gravas is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Swank reverses the position - he's now on top in Gravas's guard.

Swank got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gravas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Swank has managed to get both his arms back between Gravas's legs - danger averted.

Swank has gone for a leg lock! Gravas slips out almost immediately though and dives into Swank's guard.

Gravas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Swank looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Swank looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Swank!

Swank slips a nice elbow through Gravas's hands, connecting with Gravas's forehead.

Swank wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gravas keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Swank looking to ground and pound but Gravas is blocking nicely.

Swank trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gravas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Swank is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gravas, into his guard.

Gravas defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Swank's arms.

Gravas flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Swank decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Gravas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Swank was covering up waiting for the punch and Gravas finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Latka Gravas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
