Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tammy Cole (ranked 4135 p4p, 3594 weight class) and Maxton Hefferman (ranked 498 p4p, 0 weight class). Hefferman has chosen enemies as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Maxton Hefferman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maxton Hefferman!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Cole stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cole wants it to stay on the feet.
Hefferman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hefferman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Hefferman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cole blocks a low kick nicely.

Hefferman stuffs the takedown.
Cole looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hefferman is fending him off so far but Cole persists. Nope, Hefferman circles away and we're back to standing.

Hefferman has closed the distance and engaged Cole in a clinch.
Hefferman lands with a left to the head.

Cole throws a body shot but no joy.
Hefferman lands with an uppercut that bounces Cole off the cage and back into range.
Hefferman misses with a takedown attempt - Cole sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hefferman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hefferman clinches with his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cole is trying to maintain a safe position but Hefferman gets an underhook and turns Cole into the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cole stalling in the clinch but Hefferman improves position.
Cole can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
Hefferman is working for takedown but Cole is calmly controlling the position for now.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Maxton Hefferman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Hefferman rushes Cole and presses him up against the cage.

Hefferman lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Hefferman slips nicely into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hefferman lands a nice short elbow.
Hefferman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hefferman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cole is just riding it out for now. Hefferman eventually gives up the hold.

Cole looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hefferman passes to side control.
Cole is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hefferman is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hefferman has control of Cole's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Cole regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Cole tries to escape but Hefferman has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Hefferman slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Hefferman working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Cole is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Hefferman has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Cole taps out!
