Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michel Santos (ranked 1905 p4p, 3564 weight class) and Kangaroo Jack (ranked 209 p4p, 348 weight class). Santos comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - Intro. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michel Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kangaroo Jack!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack works Santos's body with a nice hook.
Santos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jack is fending him off so far but Santos persists. Nope, Jack circles away and we're back to standing.
Jack fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Santos looks for a takedown but Jack sprawls well.
Jack looks to score with a jab to the body but Santos is just out of range.
Santos throws a big counter combination but Jack scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Jack stalks Santos and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Santos's face. Santos staggers backwards, shaken.
Santos tries for a takedown but Jack sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michel Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Santos fails to land with a series of punches.
Jack lands with a nice body punch.
Jack misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jack scores with a leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santos takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Santos gets a double leg takedown into Jack's guard.
Jack wants to stand but Santos is controlling the position.

Jack is looking to control Santos's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jack avoid being mounted?

Jack is looking for a sweep. Santos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jack is trying to stand back up but Santos is controlling him

Santos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jack sees it coming and defends easily.
Santos wants to take a breather but Jack is having none of it.
Santos thows a huge punch but Jack dodges it nicely.
Santos is trying to control. Jack wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Santos takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Santos is looking to take a break and control but Jack is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Santos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jack can do anything to dispel that myth.
Santos passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jack!

Jack is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Santos tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
You get the feeling that Jack really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Santos controlling the position easily from mount.
Santos with shots to the head and body - Jack looks very uncomfortable down there.
Santos won't let Jack get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jack is in all sorts of trouble here.

Santos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jack has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Jack trying desperately to get to his feet.
Jack really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jack squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jack gets tackled into the cage by Santos. Santos maintains the clinch.
Jack is trying to force a seperation but Santos has the dominant position.
Jack tries to break the clinch but Santos is controlling the position.

Jack breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Michel Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jack circles away.
Santos fails to land the takedown.
Santos fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michel Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jack avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jack scores with a jab.
Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jack sprawls well. Jack wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.

Jack throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
No joy there for Jack, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jack throws a nice looking combination but Santos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Santos defending well as Jack loads up on a big left hand.
Kangaroo Jack seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Santos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Santos takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Santos blocks a leg kick.
Jack lands with a thumping leg kick.
Santos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jack connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Santos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kangaroo Jack is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Santos chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jack can pounce on him.
Santos looks for a takedown but Jack sprawls well.
Jack will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Santos looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jack!
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jack is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Santos has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Santos works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Santos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Santos has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Jack!

Santos avoids the attempt from Jack to control.
Santos trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Santos controlling the pace for now.
Santos has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Jack tries to buck Santos off but he can't manage it.
Santos landing strikes from the mount.
Santos lands with some strikes.
Jack is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jack is looking to get to half guard.
Santos working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Santos looking to control and managing it successfully.
Santos raining down shots from the mount!
Santos pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Jack is rocked!
Santos landing punches.
Jack is still in real trouble! Can Santos finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Jack covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michel Santos!
In his post fight interview, Michel Santos started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
