PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Fidley (ranked 4560 p4p, 5921 weight class) and Andrey Medvedev (ranked 386 p4p, 438 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Andrey Medvedev was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Fidley counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Fidley is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Medvedev doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fidley.
Fidley takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Fidley slips a nice elbow through Medvedev's hands, connecting with Medvedev's forehead.
Medvedev is staying active underneath Fidley, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fidley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Medvedev is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fidley pulls his head out easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Medvedev is not content to let Fidley control the position.

Fidley lands a big elbow - Medvedev is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Fidley!
