The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salvacion stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Silva.

Salvacion drives through with a takedown into guard.
Silva should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Silva looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Salvacion has picked Silva up and slammed him! Silva can't keep hold of the triangle and Salvacion manages to pass to side control!

Salvacion wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.

Silva gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Silva is concentrating on defense, preventing Salvacion from advancing position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Silva is looking to stand up but Salvacion won't let him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Salvacion avoids a punch combination nicely.
Salvacion quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Salvacion napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Silva happy to just control the position for now.
Silva looks up at the clock and then as Salvacion takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Silva smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Salvacion takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silva scores with a one two! Salvacion had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Silva has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

And Salvacion counters with a quick kick to the body but Silva blocks it.

Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Salvacion sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Salvacion to score an easy takedown into full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Salvacion can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Silva is looking to cinch up a triangle. Salvacion throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Silva's body to avoid the submission. Silva has instead reached around Salvacion's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Silva arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
