The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Covington will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Covington tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nogueira sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Covington somewhat.
Nogueira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Covington as he jumps to the side.
Covington slaps away a takedown attempt from Nogueira, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Covington got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nogueira has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Covington has managed to get both his arms back between Nogueira's legs - danger averted.
